In reimagining The Sea Fairies by L. Frank Baum, I captured the story’s wonder and mystery through vibrant, child-friendly visuals. Starting with sketches of key scenes—Zimmy’s boat voyage, mystical sea creatures, and serene underwater patterns—I refined the design using vector-based tools in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to ensure clarity and detail. A palette of oceanic blues, teals, and aquamarines, accented with coral and gold, added depth and magic. I paired this with a whimsical serif font for the title, seamlessly blending typography with the visuals to create an immersive and enchanting experience for young readers.
